After his tremendous victory in Two-Player Mahjong against the President Muraoka Takashi, Kaiji is being driven home by Kazuya, son of Chairman Hyoudou. En route, Kazuya asks Kaiji if he'd be interested in one more gamble that night, and Kaiji accepts.
